The next thing that you need to do is to screw a ½ inch x ½ inch street elbow into the range gas port. After that screw the street elbow to the other end of the connector’s fittings.

Now the two ends of the connector fitting to the connector nuts should be tightened. Make sure to keep the tube straight against the fitting.

In this step avoid the use of Teflon tapes. Tapes can interfere with the process.

Step 6 of 6: Checking for Leaks

Checking for leaks is essential after connecting your range to the gas line. Undetected leaks can cause irreversible damage. 

Start by turning on the gas valve. Now, for about a minute the range burner should be lit. This will make sure that the air is out of the gas line.
