Friday DIY Roundup + What's Going On

I've been meaning to give you an update on what's going on and why my posts here are getting sparse.

If you've been a long time reader, you may remember that I've been sick since the beginning of the year, with ups and downs, and even a time when I thought I was finally back on my feet.

Well, I started feeling very tired again (plus headaches and the like...) and have been into further medical investigation. It appears that I have a leak of cerebrospinal fluid.

I've been spending my days lately going from doctor to doctor (not complaining though, I'm being taken really good care of) and don't know yet what will be the next steps. The mere evocation of brain surgery scares me, but well...one step at a time.

In the meantime, it's friday so of course I have to share my favorite DIY projects of the week!

1. DIY pencil skirt from Delia Creates
2. How to make a roll on essential oil blend from My Life at Playtime
3. DIY wooden earrings from The Merrythought
4. Simple copper light from Kristi Murphy

Have a wonderful weekend!

Friday DIY Roundup

Happy Friday!
I have some DIYs of my own that I want to try over the weekend, but maybe I'll squeeze in one of my favorite projects from this week (links below)? That photo stand would make a nice addition to my desk!
What about you, are you feeling inspired to try one of these?

1. DIY delicate pearl knuckle ring from Adventures in Fashion
2. DIY Balenciaga inspired wire clutch from Free Series
3. DIY hair lightening spray from The Makeup Dummy (recommended for blonde/light hair only)
4. DIY desk photo stand from Vanilla Craft
5. DIY faux granite rings from Fall for DIY
6. DIY silver leaf tattoos from For the Makers
7. DIY pineapple cutting board by The Merrythought for Poppytalk

Have a wonderful weekend!

Three Things

Three Things I'm loving today:

1. Really loving these shoes* and how they could dress up the simplest jeans + white top outfit (Anthropologie, $178).

*This is an affiliate link, which means that if you buy this item, I will receive a small commission (this doesn't change the price for you, of course). If you hate the idea but love the shoes, google "Zuid Spotted Heels" and you should find them!

2. This pale pink accent wall looks pretty awesome! Photography by Hans Mossel for Vtwonen via SF Girl by Bay.

3. A carrot and coriander soup with orange and cumin sounds like the perfect way to gently transition into fall, and this comes from a person who doesn't even like coriander!

Repper Tool - Create Seamless Repeat Patterns in Two Minutes

I stumbled upon Repper and was blown away.
Playing with it is so much fun, and a kaleidoscopic feast for the eye. In a nutshell, Repper is a handy tool that turns any image into seamless repeat patterns. With hundreds of pretty patterns in one image, the possibilities are virtually endless! You can try it for free right here and save your images at low res. To save at high res. and use it in various projects (printing fabric or stationary, using it for web design, and anything else you can think of), you'll have to buy the program (at around $37).

Friday DIY Roundup

Happy Friday! Hope you had a lovely week.

Before heading off to a (hopefully) productive weekend (email management, work catch-up, and bike ride are in the plans), I'm excited to share my favorite DIY projects of the week (links below). And if that's not enough, you can always have a look at past roundups.

Have a wonderful weekend!

1. DIY no sew floral apron from Sugar & Cloth
2. DIY Kate Spade Saturday inspired nail art from Treasures and Travels
3. DIY embossed cards from Design Sponge
4. Relaxed  french braid (video tutorial) by Luxy Hair (found via Hair Romance)
5. DIY "little madam" cushion by The Lovely Drawer

Three Things

Three things I'm loving today:

1. I tried this messy french twist from Once Wed today (found via this pin). At first try I couldn't figure out how to do the pinning (I got the messy part, but the french twist part, not so much). I went through the comments to see if anyone had been having the same issue, and found Amber Smith's comment truly helpful (you can find it in the comments form under the tutorial post). Once mastered, the hairstyle looks gorgeous!

2. This made me smile. (Designed and written by Bianca Cash, available as a print)

3. Edamame, although not always easy to find, are by far my favorite beans, and one of my very favorite food altogether. Seriously, they're indescribabely delicious. No need to say, I need to try this edamame chickpea hummus from A Brown Table asap (and it's vegan).

Friday DIY Roundup

Happy Friday!

On wednesday last week, my laptop suddenly turned off and wouldn't turn back on... hence the silence on the blog. I just got it back now, working as a charm! I've never been so thankful for smartphones as I've been during my forced no-laptop cure, but blogging from a phone is definitely not the most practical. Anyhow, no more computer issues, so I'm back to regular blogging schedule- phew!

Of course, I couldn't head off for the weekend without sharing my favorite DIY projects of the week- maybe you'll feel inspired to tackle one of them?

1. DIY giant frame from Yellow Brick Home
2. DIY leather mason jar holder from Natalme
3. DIY lamp with bangles from Heju (originally in French, translated with Google)
4. Party printables (free!) by The Lovely Drawer for West Elm
5. DIY no sew neoprene circle skirt from A Pair and a Spare

Have a wonderful weekend!
