While I'm away in Fiji (lucky me!), a pretty awesome group of some of my very favorite bloggers is helping “fill in the gaps” with amazing recipes, DIY projects and much more.
Today's post is by Courtney from Always Rooney. I adore Courtney's earthy, bohemian chic style and how she creates a unique visual atmosphere through her photography. Her passport holder DIY is one of my favorite projects ever (and if you love it but are not the crafty kind, you can find it at her shop).
Simple shirts and dresses are my go-to, so I am always looking for new ways to dress them up or accessorize them. When I came across a harness belt on Free People's site- I knew I had to make one like it to throw over all of my basics. I love how simple it is, and it is so easy to throw on with an outfit!
Leather cord in two or three different colors
Small leather scraps
Cut three strips of leather cord about 7 inches long and 6 strips of leather cord about 24-30 inches long.
Start braiding the strips of leather so you have three braids.
Cut 6 rectangles of scrap leather about 4 inches long.
Glue the tip of your first braid to the back of the rectangle of leather and wrap around ring and glue together.
Repeat this for the ends of every braid, make sure they are being attached in the same shape as the photo.
Now you are ready to layer your harness over your favorite summer dress or simple t-shirt!
How would you style your harness accessory?
