Dear Kate

I was contacted by the team at Dear Kate, a line of leak and stain-resistant underwear for women. I was intrigued, visited their website, and the Ella was love at first sight. They sent me a sample to try out, and I was amazed. No hyperbole- I was really amazed.

I don't talk easily about personal stuff, and a fortiori about period, but I do believe that the shame and embarrassment floating around that time of the month is a bad thing for women and their (our) self-image. If I'm being honest, I'm myself a victim of it. So I'll say it out loud: I mentioned once that I have PCOS, and that means that I sometimes have a very heavy flow, when I could use a back-up, if only for a confidence boost.

Well, Dear Kates are just as functional as they are pretty.  They are sneeze proof, pregnancy bladder proof and period proof, all while remaining adorable and stylish. With styles ranging from basic to athletic to fancy, and sizes ranging from XS to 3X, they've got everyone covered.

My Ella pair is gorgeous, flattering and incredibly comfy. They fit like they were made just for me and give me so much more confidence. The inner layers are a microfiber that’s stain resistant, and they allow the outer layers to dry faster in case of a mishap. Plus, they're made in the USA and come in an adorable little package.

I'm thinking that Moxie may be my next pair! See them all at Dear Kate.

Disclosure: I received a free pair of Ella briefs for evaluation purpose but did not receive any other form of compensation. All opinions expressed are my own.

  1. This is an interesting idea. So the whole point is that you still have to wear tampons/pads, etc. but if you do end up leaking, it won't stain? I think it's a great idea!

    1. Yes, exactly. If you're using it during your period, you just keep wearing whatever you normally wear (tampons, cup, pads etc) but you have a backup in case of a mishap!

I think it's hilarious that you post underwear called 'dear kate' right after the scandal breaks of kate middleton not wearing underwear.

    Made me laugh.
