Today, Christina (the lovely editor and gorgeous hair behind Hair Romance) is sharing the full tutorial for one of the hairstyles of her 30 braids in 30 days challenge: the waterfall braided bun.

Tip: The difference with this waterfall braid is that you want to angle it diagonally from the top right of your head down towards the lower left side. This style looks great with larger sections as shown here or you could do a very fine waterfall braid across as well.
2. Once you’ve reached the lower left side, pull your hair into a ponytail but leave the waterfall sections loose.

3. Gently scoop up the waterfall sections and twist them into the ponytail.
Tip: You want to leave the waterfall sections a little bit loose so it looks like they’re curling under.
4. With the shorter layers on the first few waterfall sections, use bobby pins to secure them in place if they don't reach the ponytail on your hair.
5. Gently tease or backcomb the ponytail and pin into a messy bun.
Tip: You can stretch out your waterfall braid and pull it down to make it look more diagonal.
Variations: If your hair is very long, you can also braid the ponytail and pin it round into a braided bun. This style also works really well in short hair and you can either just do a short ponytail or fold the ends over into a small chignon.

What do you think? Will you give this hairstyle a try? I love how versatile it is, how it works equally well for parties and the everyday. And I'm wondering : do you think it's work appropriate?
Thank you so much Christina for sharing this tutorial and being such an hair-spiration! Find Christina on Hair Romance, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
Oh! I love this. I have short hair, so I'm glad that it's supposed to work with it. Even if it doesn't, the little girl I'm au pairing has long hair that I do up every night, so we'll have to try that tomorrow night! And I wouldn't see why it wouldn't be work appropriate. As long as everything that you're wearing is work appropriate, this should work right in!
ReplyDeleteHope it works in your hair! I bet it will look adorable in the little girl's hair. And thanks for your advice too - you're right, it all depends on what you're wearing. Thanks for stopping by :)

ReplyDeleteawesome hair styles i love this
ReplyDeleteim really no good with hair styling. im scared to try this one. do you think even amateurs can do this?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. If you can, practice the waterfall braid on a friend, then on yourself, and keep practicing until you get the hang of it. It's really just a matter of practice. If you really can't master it, you can try to do a waterfall twist (http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com/hairstyles/time/5-10mins/waterfall-twist-beautiful-teen-hairstyles/) instead of the waterfall braid. It's pretty as well, and easier.
DeleteWhat a pretty hairstyle! Big, big fan of waterfall braids... this one looks so sophisticated :) Love the style idea here :)

Hello there! Do you know if they make any plugins to safeguard against hackers? I'm kinda paranoid about losing everything I've worked hard on. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteHello there! I know this is kinda off topic however , I'd figured I'd ask. Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest authoring a blog article or vice-versa? My website discusses a lot of the same subjects as yours and I feel we could greatly benefit from each other. If you happen to be interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you! Excellent blog by the way!

ReplyDeleteDepending on the terms of a mortgage, interest rates may change over time—going up or down without the input of the owner themselves. The same is true for small apartment building loans property taxes, which almost always fluctuate. When you rent, you lock yourself in at a set monthly amount for the entire term of your lease so that the only variable costs you have to worry about are spending more in heat or electricity.
